Why 10.org
In sum, 10 is the beginning of a new cycle, a repetition of the Number
1. The latter number symbolizes new beginnings, decisions, independence,
uniqueness, the pioneering instinct, and the courage to act on one's dreams. More
emphatically, 1 symbolizes the power within.
I n mystical and esoteric writings, the Number
10 is associated with
luck, success, honor, and material rewards. In the Major Arcana of the Tarot, for
example, 10 is symbolized by the Wheel of Fortune. The Sphinx in
this card depicts the developed human being to which we all aspire, with the Lion having a
woman's head and breast symbolizing the soul in dominion over the body, in perfect
harmony. It also depicts the union of male and female forces.
Astrologically, 10 represents a new start, following the completion of
the basic 1 through 9 cycle: a promise that the God power within us never ceases but
merely changes form. The Jupiter influence of number 10 signifies
the faith and optimism that our new beginning will ultimately bring generous rewards.
The Number 10, however, hides an even greater symbolism: the potential
to establish peace and fellowship among the races and people of the world.
This is what the International Immigrants Foundation is all about. The promotion
of positive inter-cultural relations conditions and motivates all its activities and
programs. Our doors are always open to those who desire to join us in helping
develop the spirit of goodwill among mankind.
Once this is understood, the symbolism of the Number
10 in our work
assumes its rightful significance and import. May God bless you and inspire you
always!
